ABOUT SCALE & RHYTHM RUDIMENTS

The Scale & Rhythm Rudiments series was designed to act as supplemental material to the Sight-Read to Succeed series. With the inclusion of U.I.L. criteria coverage for all instruments, this series includes twenty-five sessions that include scales with rhythm patterns. Much like the Sight-Read to Succeed series, these sessions only contain material that is listed in the criteria.

Exercises begin with violins and violas in rhythmic unison; eventually moving towards rhythmic independence. Cellos and basses are always together.

The books are divided in two; one for levels 1-3, and another for levels 4-6. Your campus' conference assignment will determine your level. Each level begins with a list of criteria the ensemble could possibly see in the sight-reading room. Nothing outside of the criteria is utilized, so there are no surprises!
