ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Efrain E. Munguia is currently an Orchestra Director at Southwest Early College High School in P.SJ.A. I.S.D. (Pharr-San Juan-Alamo), in Pharr, Texas. A Rio Grande Valley native, Mr. Munguia studied at the University of Texas Pan-American (now UT-RGV) where he focused on Music Education and received his Bachelor of Arts. He continued his education at the University of Texas - El Paso and received his Master in Music degree in Music Education.

Mr. Munguia enjoys teaching students of all ages and performance levels. He is an active composer, writing compositions for high school and middle school level orchestras. Every spring, Mr. Munguia participates as a guest clinician at the annual UT-RGV Cello Festival, under the direction of Dr. Tido Janssen. Every year, he composes and arranges compositions for the Novice ensemble.

He is an avid collector of vinyl records and he enjoys sipping on a nice up of coffee while working on books, compositions, and unique products that can only be found at La Hacienda Musica.
